Olympic Beach
Olympic Beach or Katerinoskala as the locals call it is a lovely beach stretching for several kilometers, with nice sand and clear blue water a few kilometers away from Katerini the main city of Pieria Prefecture. The rake of the beach is very gentle so you can walk out to sea for quite a way, which is good for children and non-swimmers. It has areas in front of bars with sun lounges and next to them areas with room for towels and umbrellas. There are plenty of restaurants and tavernas to choose from as well as cafes, bakeries, bars and souvenir shops. The beach has all the facilities including toilets, changing cabins, showers, lifeguard, water sports and has been awarded the European Blue Flag several times. At sunset the sun hides behind Mt Olympus and its a good place to enrich your photo collection but if your aren't afraid to wake early you can enjoy the sun rising from the sea bathing everything in yellow orange colors.
Location Instructions
It is situated 8 km from Katerini and is very easy to get there by car via the E75 motorway (junctions: Katerini or Korinos) or by bus from Katerini.
